Backlog
Orders that customers have placed but the company hasn't delivered yet. It shows how much work is already lined up. Unlike remaining performance obligations, it isn't defined by accounting rules, so companies count it differently.
Simple example
A shipbuilder has orders for 3 ships at $50 million each and hasn't finished any of them. Its backlog is $150 million, which turns into revenue as the ships are built.
